The original Fishing for Information service was launched in 1995 by John Bostock of Stirling Aquaculture, and quickly became one of the most comprehensive site listings for aquaculture and related aquatic science. The interface was revised in 1998 and links have been added and updated by Stirling Aquaculture staff whenever possible.
In 2004, Stirling Aquaculture partnered with Aqua TT to develop a new database-driven interface and to enable more frequent updating of internet links
The update of “Fishing for Information” was realised through the partial financial support of the Commission of the European Communities under the LEONARDO DA VINCI PROGRAMME under the PISCES Project coordinated by AquaTT.
